Who You Are As a social worker within the Duty Service, you are expected to be experienced in managing Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) work. You should be efficient in handling Section 47 investigations and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable and capable of seamlessly integrating into a temporary role while maintaining the high standards of St Helens practice. What the job involves The role involves responding to referrals received from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and conducting assessments and plans for children. You will participate in duty rotas every four weeks, completing necessary assessments and managing short-term cases. Collaboration with the practice support team and active participation in regular supervision sessions is crucial to mastering St Helens' practice standards. The Duty Team is designed for short-term engagement; once an assessment and plan are set, cases are held on a CIN basis with the objective of stepping them down or transferring them if longer-term support is needed.
