With a strong reputation for innovation and quality, we are now looking for a dynamic and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our passionate property team as we scale up our development plans across Scotland.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in hospitality projects, including restaurants, bars, and small hotels/accommodation schemes. You will be instrumental in managing the commercial and cost aspects of projects ranging from £100k to approx.£6 million, including new builds, refurbishments, refreshes and fit-outs.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the commercial management of multiple projects from inception to completion
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for new ventures
* Manage tender processes, including contractor and supplier negotiations
* Monitor project budgets, cash flows, and change control
* Carry out value engineering to optimise quality and cost
* Prepare and negotiate contracts, interim payments, and final accounts
* Collaborate closely with the internal property team, external consultants, and contractors
* Ensure that all work complies with legal and regulatory standards
* Provide monthly cost reports and forecasting to the leadership team
* Support the development of new processes and systems as Buzzworks expands into accommodation
Key Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QS role, with demonstrable work in the hospitality sector (restaurants, bars, hotels/accommodation)
* Experience delivering refits, refurbishments, and new builds
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, Design & Build, etc.)
* Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
* Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as needed
