Responsibilities
* As a support worker, you will be expected to work with a caseload of participants in a community environment, starting with the initial exchange and assessment with the participant and continuing support during their sentence by providing guidance and encouragement.
* Deliver interventions one-on-one and through group work to assist participants in overcoming challenges, reintegrating into their communities, and exiting the course.
* Contribute to establishing safe spaces where individuals who have undergone rehabilitation engage in a range of positive activities to increase social acceptance, improve general health, and develop skills to meet daily obstacles.
* Collaborate with probation/social care or criminal justice colleagues to manage caseloads and coach/mentor participants from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in probation, social care, or the criminal justice sector is preferred, but candidates who can confidently work with a diverse range of people will be considered.
* Ability to coach/mentor participants and support reintegration efforts.
* Experience in managing a caseload and ability to work with a team to support participants.
* Knowledge of engaging with housing, substance use, physical and mental health resources is advantageous.
* IAG Level 3 is desirable; experience inputting and retrieving electronic data and maintaining computer-based information systems in a target-driven environment is also desirable.
* Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, with ability to relate to people at all levels and in a variety of settings.
* Ability to motivate and sustain engagement of individuals.

* Salary £24,650 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
