GSL Education are working in partnership with a rapidly growing SEMH Alternative Provision in Bournemouth to recruit a dedicated and resilient Learning Mentor to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking provision that supports pupils aged 5–16, all of whom have been referred by the Local Education Authority (LEA) due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated behavioural challenges. The provision is highly regarded for its nurturing, structured and aspirational approach to education. They place a strong emphasis on helping young people re-engage with learning through tailored support, practical learning opportunities, and a clear focus on building confidence, resilience, and life skills. A key feature of the setting is its strong commitment to Physical Education and outdoor learning, using sport and physical activity as a powerful tool to support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation. As such, candidates from a sports coaching, youth work, behaviour support, or SEMH background are strongly encouraged to apply. The provision also offers a wide range of qualifications, vocational pathways, and enrichment initiatives, ensuring every learner leaves with meaningful outcomes and a foundation for life beyond education.
