Large national business with a turnover of £1bn seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join and lead on commercial legal matters and manage a small team.
Arbuthnot Yon are working with a sizeable blue chip national business which is a leader in its field. An opportunity exists for a lawyer to join as a Senior Legal Counsel on a full-time or part-time (ideally 4 day equivalent) basis. Reporting into the General Counsel you will be responsible for the day to day running of the commercial legal team and management of less experienced team members as well as advising the business in relation to commercial legal matters.
Working closely with business colleagues and the executive team you will be responsible for the following areas:
* Commercial agreements including large out-sourcing projects, supply of services agreements, technology related contracts and customer contracts;
* Marketing and digital strategy including data protection projects;
* Compliance issues; and
* Leading on legal/business system development.
This is a varied in-house role where you will have lots of autonomy and exposure to stakeholders including the Board. The business is evolving, and the legal team have an important part to play in this and you will have the ability to affect change as the business evolves and grows.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced commercial lawyer who has sound experience in commercial contracts but is also keen to develop and get involved in a broad range of work. Any experience gained in data protection would be beneficial. We are keen to hear from mid-level lawyers looking to step up into a more senior role or alternatively an experienced lawyer looking for a change.
