Salary: £23 to £25 per hour, commensurate with experience
Shift: Permanent days (with occasional night shifts)
Broad Strokes:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC Millers & Lathes. The ideal candidate will possess experience with a diverse range of CNC equipment, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
* Machinery Operation: Expertly operating a variety of equipment, including CNC Milling machines and CNC Lathes, with live tooling on the Y axis.
* Interpretation of Drawings: Understanding of the Machine Shop processes, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to guide manufacturing.
* Programming: Programming all machines based on provided drawings, with experience in Edgecam or Fusion 360 for offline programming.
* Self-Inspection of Parts: Ensuring parts meet quality standards.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Maintaining a safe, tidy work environment and providing feedback on safety issues.
* Collaborative Working: Contributing ideas for process improvements within the team.
* Efficient Workflow Management: Adhering to schedules for timely delivery of high-quality components.
Skills:
* Proficient in Fanuc Programming for Milling and Turning.
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal), computer literate.
* Team player eager to contribute within a small team of manual and CNC machinists.
* Willing to work overtime, including occasional night shifts.
* Aspiring to become a CNC team leader within 5 years.
* Desire to grow the CNC side of the business.
Education and Experience:
* GCSE/O Level or equivalent, minimum grade 5 in English and Maths.
* At least 5 years of engineering experience post-apprenticeship.
* Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience (Fanuc).
* Knowledge of modern tool cutting techniques.
* Experience working with castings and metals like Inconel, Aluminium Bronze, Cast Iron, Duplex, Stainless Steel, and Titanium.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Competitive salary: £23-£25 per hour, with a lifetime commission-based bonus on new clients.
* 43.5-hour workweek with paid 30-minute lunch.
* Overtime at x1.75 during weekdays.
