We are looking for a pro‑active, passionate and motivated Clinical Psychologist to provide maternity cover in the 8B Principal Clinical Psychologist/clinical lead role in the ARFID service in Suffolk. As one of the newly developed ARFID services in the country we pride ourselves on this new service and continue to develop it to meet the needs of children with challenges in their dietary intake. This post offers the opportunity to provide clinical leadership for the Suffolk ARFID service, upholding the highest standards of clinical governance.

We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous experience of working with eating disorders and who are confident in applying this knowledge to support children and families affected by ARFID.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical supervision to experienced psychologists and other professionals.
* Progress staff development in the team and inform wider strategy.
* Collaboratively lead the team with the Clinical Team Manager and Consultant Paediatrician.
* Establish and lead on psychologically safe and informed environments for teams and staff through positive leadership values and behaviours.
* Provide key role in team containment, working with professional systems, having difficult conversations, managing team emotions, and thinking clinically and systemically simultaneously.
* Run, contribute to or support service development projects in liaison with the Consultant Psychologist or other senior leadership staff.
* Contribute significantly to the psychological practice of the team with a focus on quality, efficacy and continuous improvement.
* Work alongside Consultant Clinical Psychologists for CYP services across Suffolk and Norfolk in developing clinical pathway intervention packages.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Post‑graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent, and eligibility for chartered status with the BPS.
* Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
Experience (Essential)
* Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, varying in severity and complexity.
* Extensive experience as a qualified clinical psychologist and evidence of specialist knowledge gained through practice and ongoing training.
* Teaching, training and delivering clinical supervision.
Experience (Desirable)
* Representing psychology within MDT settings (clinical and organisational contexts).
Skills (Essential)
* Assessment, evaluation and management of risk associated with mental ill health and related psychopathology.
Skills (Desirable)
* Production of reports suitable for public presentations and presentation in medicolegal settings.
Knowledge (Essential)
* Providing consultation to other professional and non‑professional groups.
Other essential requirement: Ability to travel independently.
