Overview
Solicitor / Associate / Legal Director - Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) role at DAC Beachcroft. Department: CSG - Strategic (Advocacy / Costs / Safety, Health and Environment / Criminal / Abuse / Travel). Location: London.
We are looking for lawyers to join our Regulatory SHE team, with a focus on London, the Midlands or Northern England, to work on regulatory and health and safety matters for individuals and organisations facing investigations and related proceedings.
What you will do
* Provide timely, professional, high-quality service to clients on a busy and varied caseload encompassing a range of contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues for a variety of clients.
* Act as a point of contact for clients, operating in accordance with client protocols and applying knowledge and experience appropriately.
* Assist with business development activities, including preparation and delivery of pitches, presentations and training events.
* Demonstrate sound file management, including compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols and client protocols as required; ensure consistent and accurate billing and credit control; manage WIP and file closures; update Management Information.
* Take responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on own caseload, including accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information.
* Maintain an understanding of other practice areas and an active internal network.
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading appropriate publications and meeting Law Society CPD requirements.
Who you are
* You will have at least 10 years PQE with experience in a regulatory and/or commercially focused environment, in private practice or elsewhere.
* You will have extensive experience advising on regulatory work including HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquests. Experience in areas such as environmental breaches, trading standards, product safety, food safety and fire safety would be beneficial. We will consider candidates with other relevant experience.
* You will have experience of business development and building client relationships.
* Willingness to travel at short notice to assist clients on the ground; driving licence essential.
* Excellent legal drafting, analytical and technical skills.
* Ability to meet budgetary targets in terms of both time and fee income.
