Job Summary:
As a Presales Finance Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and articulating SAP Finance solutions for some of SAP’s largest enterprise customers. Acting as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Finance Directors, and senior finance stakeholders, you will design and present SAP Finance architectures that are technically robust, commercially sound, and aligned to the client’s strategic business goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Opportunity Qualification & Deal Strategy
* Assess opportunities through a finance transformation lens, identifying client drivers such as working capital optimisation, risk management, automation, and compliance.
* Define deal strategy and value propositions with sales and solution teams to position SAP Finance solutions competitively.
* Contribute to executive-level messaging and board-ready value cases that resonate with CFO stakeholders.
Solution Design & Architecture
* Design comprehensive SAP Finance architectures covering:
* Core Finance (General Ledger, AP/AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling)
* Treasury & Risk Management, Cash Management, Bank Communication Management (BCM)
* Financial Planning & Consolidation (BPC/Group Reporting)
* Public and Private Cloud Finance deployments (RISE, ECC migration, hybrid models)
* Ensure designs align with SAP Clean Core principles, integration best practices, and compliance frameworks.
* Collaborate with technical architects on cross-domain integration (Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Analytics).
Client Engagement & Thought Leadership
* Lead finance-specific discovery workshops, aligning technology solutions to business transformation outcomes.
* Present confidently to CFOs, FDs, and Finance Transformation leaders, simplifying complex solution designs into strategic business language.
* Build trusted relationships with clients by demonstrating credibility in both corporate finance and SAP architecture.
Presales Execution & Solution Defense
* Develop tailored demos, proof-of-concepts, and business cases illustrating the impact of SAP Finance innovation.
* Defend solution architecture during client reviews, addressing technical and business objections effectively.
* Collaborate with Deal Managers to shape compelling proposal responses and Statements of Work (SOWs).
Commercial & Financial Acumen
* Support commercial modelling, pricing, and value analysis, ensuring financial integrity and alignment with client ROI expectations.
* Identify deal risks and mitigation strategies, particularly around transformation readiness and change management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Finance & Business Background
* Experience as a senior finance leader (e.g., Finance Director, CFO, or Head of Finance) or equivalent, followed by consulting, architecture, or presales experience.
* Strong understanding of corporate finance processes — including reporting, treasury, risk, planning, and compliance.
* Proven ability to communicate financial transformation value to C-suite executives.
SAP Expertise
* Deep functional expertise in SAP Finance, including:
* ECC and S/4HANA Finance (Private Cloud, Public Cloud)
* Treasury & Risk Management, BCM, BPC/Group Reporting
* SAP Central Finance and Integration with other LoBs
* Working knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and how it supports innovation in Finance.
* Understanding of integration architecture with non-SAP systems, analytics, and cloud platforms.
Presales & Communication Skills
* Strong presentation and storytelling abilities to articulate technical and business value to finance executives.
* Confidence to engage and challenge senior stakeholders in the boardroom.
* Exceptional collaboration skills — able to operate as part of a multi-domain presales team.
