This is a critical leadership appointment during a high-growth phase. With revenue projected to scale from £90m to £140m over the next two years, the business requires a robust Credit Control Manager to stabilise and professionalise the cash collection function.
As the organisation prepares for a potential exit/sale in the near future, you will lead the transition from "old school" manual processes to a data-driven, modern back-office environment using NetSuite. You will initially oversee two direct reports, with a mandate to own the full cash cycle, improve certainty in forecasting, and build out sophisticated KPI dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor the cash collection team, driving performance and professional development.
* Process Transformation: Transition the department from legacy processes to fully leveraging NetSuite; identifying and implementing system improvements to automate and streamline workflows.
* Debt Management: Take immediate action to "stop the bleeding," reducing aged debt and ensuring the business consistently hits collection forecasts.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for Partners at law firms and internal Business Development teams to negotiate payment terms and resolve complex billing queries.
* Reporting: Build and maintain KPI dashboards to provide the CFO and Finance Manager with real-time visibility on cash flow and department efficiency.
* Cash Cycle Ownership: Over time, take full end-to-end ownership of the cash cycle, ensuring stability as the company scales.
Experience & Requirements
* Background: Proven experience in a high-growth environment, ideally with Private Equity (PE) backing. Experience within the Legal sector or professional services is highly advantageous.
* Scale: Previous experience managing cash collections in the £30m – £100m range.
* Systems: Strong proficiency in modern ERPs (NetSuite experience is a significant plus) and Excel for dashboard creation.
* Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management skills; able to influence senior partners and navigate complex organisational structures.
* Mindset: A "builder" mentality—someone who enjoys moving from old-school processes to modern, scalable systems.
