The continued growth in software subscribers coupled with an ongoing relationship with our consultancy partner CAS has led to an opening for a Senior Aviation Analyst role, employed within RDC’s Operations team and working jointly with CAS on consultancy projects. The successful applicant will conduct a range of research and analysis activities to support RDC’s existing suite of products, as well as undertaking research and analysis to support consultancy assignments with CAS. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with internal colleagues and external clients to ensure the data held within the products and research provided to clients are free from errors, as well as undertaking bespoke data analysis and research for CAS, leading to the production of consultancy outputs for airport and airline customers.

About CAS
Commercial Aviation Solutions (CAS) is an aviation consultancy offering specialist analysis, support and advice to airports, airlines and government bodies across the world. Services include all aspects of air service development, route development opportunity evaluation and presentation, route performance forecasts, airport catchment analysis and airline business cases as well as airline performance evaluation, airport charges strategy review and airport strategy evaluation.
Responsibilities
The role has two main components: supporting RDC’s operations team with research-based tasks; and supporting the company’s consultancy partner (CAS) in research, analysis and report production for client-facing work
RDC Operations-based responsibilities (3 days a week)
Develop processes for auditing, reporting and cleansing data to ensure the highest levels of accuracy.
The creation and maintenance of a monthly insights report using RDC’s Apex product that will be distributed to all clients.
Writing of news articles using primarily RDC’s Apex products around current events, these will be published on LinkedIn and RDC’s own website.
Maintain databases relevant for our core products, namely:
* Fares, Profitability, Schedules and Operational data (Apex)
Identify new aviation (and adjacent) datasets which could create new products or enhance our existing offerings, including:
* Global demographic datasets (e.g. World Bank, Eurostat)
* Regional and National statistical data
* Passenger traffic and aviation survey data
* Enhanced and Expanded Fleet data
Identifying synergies in our data and how we generate new insights from them.
CAS Consultancy-based responsibilities (2 days a week)
Producing regular reports for clients; analysing data, identifying trends and presenting findings in a comprehensive and professional manner.
Supporting the project manager on live projects through analysing data and/or producing report content.
Being part of the project delivery team (within 12 months), explaining methodologies used, findings and recommendations to clients.
Managing the production and delivery of regular client reports in conjunction with the project manager.
* Identify trends through data analysis and industry research.
* Use a variety of data sources to provide insight into the current operating environment.
* Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Understanding and analysing a variety of industry and non-industry data sources
* Selecting the best sources for each live project
* Using software together with data to produce meaningful analysis.
Undertaking research into a variety of industry areas to support projects or inform the content of news articles, proposals, and training content.
Presenting data and findings in a professional manner, within written reports and verbally during client delivery meetings.
Keep up to date on news within the aviation industry and further knowledge in key areas (e.g. air service development, sustainable aviation)
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
· Degree level education in a numerical field
· Advanced data researching experience
· Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
· Good level of mathematical ability
· Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Great verbal and written communication skills
· Right to work in the United Kingdom
· Flexibility to travel
· Experience of having worked in an airport/airline/aviation consultancy
· Experience of advanced analytics tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau
Nice to have
· Experience or interest in programming language such as Python or R
