At Verulam House CareHome we are looking for a hardworking team player who is passionate about developing a career in the social care industry as a Senior Care Assistant. You will be motivated and compassionate, with a genuine interest in benefitting the lives of those within our care.
You MUST hold Care Certificate and be willing to take NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care to qualify for this position.
Responsibilities of the Senior Care Assistant
* Providing physical and mental stimulation for residents by taking part in social and recreational activities, on a one-to-one and group basis
* Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing
* Assisting with mealtimes
* Ensuring residents' independence, dignity and respect, by delivering the very best person-centred care
* Helping to maintain accurate records
* Undertaking regular ongoing training
* Developing relationships with our residents and their families in order to gain a better understanding of how to provide the best possible care
* Reviews with external health professionals
* Lead the team of care assistants
* Administer medication
Skills and Experience of the Senior Care Assistant
* Caring, and compassionate nature
* The desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others
* Good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to use IT systems
* Use of initiative and ability to problem solve
