We are on the lookout for individuals who share our passion and commitment for delivering high quality childcare, playwork and children's activities. We are now recruiting for After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistants at our club at Shottermill Junior School in Haslemere, Surrey (GU27).
The role
Our After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant roles are part time, term time only, Monday to Friday from 2.45pm – 6.00pm. As an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the After School Club Manager alongside other Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club while enthusiastically supporting and engaging children aged 4-11. You will assist in the delivery of a range of playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities, and help ensure a safe and secure setting for the children in your care.
Responsibilities
* Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the club at Shottermill Junior School.
* Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and encourage children to participate.
* Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of snack time.
* Maintain awareness and sensitivity to children with additional needs (physical, behavioural, dietary).
* Develop strong relationships with all children and ensure every child enjoys the club.
* Understand and apply relevant Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids internal policies, including safeguarding.
* Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Skills & Experience
* Passion or interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
* Fun, energetic nature.
* Reliable and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and children.
* Able to engage with children aged 4–11 years.
* Opportunities for further qualification and development available.
* Full training and inductions will be provided.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 2.45pm – 6.00pm, term‑time only.
