Test Engineer (Automation) – Cheltenham – Permanent (40 hours per week) – £55,000 - £62,000 per annum – SC Clearance or Willing to Undergo SC Clearance
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Test Engineer who has experience designing automation scripts and finding solutions for automation problems.
You will be proficient in scripting and programming languages and be prepared to do some mentoring/leadership.
Working Patterns: This role will predominantly be on site in central Cheltenham. Occasional UK travel may be required to attend team/customer meetings, events and training activities
The Key Responsibilities of a Test Engineer (Automation):
* Design and develop test automation scripts for software testing.
* Collaborate with Test Analysts and Software Developers to develop solutions.
* Develop acceptance test scripts that validate key business scenarios.
* Conduct testing across both functional and non-functional aspects of applications.
* Analyse automation test results to identify and highlight potential risks.
* Evaluate, adopt, and implement test frameworks to strengthen testing confidence.
* Mentor and guide team members on best practices in testing.
* Develop and maintain test plans to ensure they validate functional and non-functional requirements.
* Advocate for and apply automated testing within integration, performance, and related frameworks.
* Keep updated with the latest industry developments.
* Mentoring/Leading Junior Engineers as required.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Test Engineer (Automation) role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
* Previous experience within a Test Engineering role with automation experience.
* Degree in computer science, software development, or a related field; or ISTQB qualification.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, C# and Java.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
