5-6 months contract with a local authority Summary The Deputy Contract Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Strategic Manager and Service Director in managing the Highways PFI contract. This position is vital for ensuring effective contract management through robust scrutiny frameworks, performance management of SPV/OpCo, site inspections, audits, and stakeholder engagement with elected members, Town and Parish councils. The Deputy Contract Manager will lead network management and operational aspects of the contract, ensuring compliance and driving service excellence. Responsibilities Lead and manage all network management and operational aspects of the Highways PFI contract. Scrutinize and approve Operations & Maintenance (O&M) programmes and planned investment strategies. Review maintenance strategies for all assets within the O&M programme. Oversee NRSWA compliance, road space bookings, emergency closures, and statutory undertaker programmes. Essential Experience Required Proven experience in highways contract management or large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of PFI frameworks, O&M programmes, and asset management strategies. Experience in performance monitoring, audits, and compliance management. Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder engagement and governance boards. Essential Qualifications Required Degree in Civil Engineering, Highways Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Professional membership (e.g., ICE, CIHT) desirable. Knowledge of NRSWA regulations and highways legislation.
