The school is seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable individual to lead the technical support within the Science department, ensuring all practical activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with CLEAPSS guidance. The Role * Oversee the day-to-day running of the Science preparation rooms and technical support team. * Prepare and maintain equipment, materials, and resources for practical science lessons. * Ensure all experiments and demonstrations comply with health and safety regulations and CLEAPSS best practice. * Manage stock levels, carry out risk assessments, and maintain accurate records of equipment and chemicals. * Provide support, training, and guidance to junior technicians. * Liaise with teaching staff to ensure practical lessons are effectively resourced and meet curriculum needs. * Contribute to the ongoing improvement of technical processes and safety standards within the department. Requirements * Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally in a secondary school setting. * Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, COSHH, and CLEAPSS guidelines. * A relevant science qualification (A Level, BTEC, or degree level preferred). * Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills. * Ability to work proactively, prioritise tasks, and manage a small team effectively.
