We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Assistant to be part of the team here at Wiston Estate Chalk Restaurant. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our kitchen, we offer the opportunity to develop under a skilled and experienced team.
We offer competitive rates of pay plus service charge, and a friendly, inclusive working environment. We are open for Lunch Service from Wednesday – Sunday, with Dinner services on Friday and Saturday, where we require the support from a Kitchen Assistant.
The details - This vacancy is for a Kitchen Assistant, flexible shifts covering Saturday and Sundays
The key responsibilities to this role will be;
* To ensure that all equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized to the required standard,
* Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and peeling vegetables and preparing salads.
* Ensure that all food waste is disposed of properly and efficiently.
* Follow all health and safety regulations, including correct handling of cleaning chemicals.
* Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen at all times, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces and emptying bins.
* Assist chefs and kitchen staff as required, including carrying heavy items and storing food supplies.
* Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth running of the kitchen.
* Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
* Develop into food preparation

Previous experience is desirable but not essential, we are looking for individuals with good communication and have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work weekends and some evenings is required.
Please note the ability to drive is essential due to the rural location.
