Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer with forging expertise to join a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components. £40,000 – £50,000 + Benefits (depending on experience).
This role is well-suited to either an apprentice-trained technician or experienced setter who is ready to step up into an engineering position, or an experienced forging engineer seeking to bring specialist expertise into a high-performing team. Your real-world knowledge of forging will be vital to success.

£40,000 – £50,000 + Benefits (depending on experience)
The Purpose of the Role
As the forging specialist, you will develop, optimise, and standardise processes that ensure consistent, high-quality output. You’ll play an active role in problem-solving, process improvement, and supporting new project introductions, while also sharing your knowledge to strengthen capability across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the subject matter expert for forging processes, tooling, and set-ups
* Develop and standardise methods to deliver repeatable, right-first-time results
* Support new projects, challenging existing practices and identifying smarter solutions
* Provide coaching and technical support to operators and colleagues
* Work collaboratively with other process engineers to embed best practice across finishing operations
* Contribute to automation, modernisation, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
* Hands-on forging experience is essential (apprentice-trained, setter, or engineer)
* Strong technical knowledge of forging processes, tooling, and materials
* Confident in interpreting technical drawings and working to fine tolerances
* Problem solver with a drive to simplify, improve, and standardise processes
* Positive communicator and team player, eager to learn and share expertise
* ERP and CAD exposure (SolidWorks preferred) advantageous but not essential
