Position Title: Deputy Ward Manager
Unit: Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Trafford – Irwell Ward (full time); Brook Ward (acting)
Responsibilities
* Assist the Ward Manager in leadership and operational management, ensuring high-quality nursing care for all service users.
* Assess, plan, and implement care plans and carry out specialist nursing procedures in the agreed care group.
* Provide clinical and managerial leadership to junior staff, offering supervision to staff and students.
* Support the Ward Manager in the clinical and operational running of the ward.
* Support and supervise junior staff and students.
* Implement change to improve patient care quality and staff wellbeing.
* Provide preceptorship for newly qualified staff.
* Act as a role model within the team, promoting a high standard of care for all patients.
* Act as bleep holder for the unit when required.
