About the Role:
We are looking for experienced and qualified Early Years Activity Leaders to join our holiday camp team, supporting children aged 3–5 in activities including arts and crafts, performing arts, imaginative and creative play, outdoor play and other occasional activities such as no bake cooking. This role is ideal for candidates with a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare/early years qualification (or equivalent) who are passionate about creative play, safeguarding, and early childhood development.
You will be expected to confidently lead activities independently, manage behaviour positively, and ensure safeguarding is at the heart of everything you do. We are seeking self-motivated individuals who use initiative, can work as part of a team, and are also capable of running sessions without constant direction.
Responsibilities:
* Independently plan and deliver fun, play-based activities for children aged 3–5.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
* Encourage creativity, confidence, and social interaction through play, music, movement, and games.
* Take responsibility for daily routines (e.g. snacks, toileting support, transitions) in line with safeguarding and hygiene policies.
* Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met at all times.
* Positively manage behaviour and support inclusion, escalating concerns appropriately.
* Set up and tidy away activities and base rooms.
* Collaborate with the wider camp team but take ownership of your group.
Requirements:
* Full and relevant Level 2 Early Years / Childcare qualification (essential to be counted in Ofsted ratios).
* At least 2 years' hands-on experience working with early years children (nursery, preschool, or EYFS clubs).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
* Self-motivated, reliable, and confident leading groups independently.
* Available to work during school holiday periods.
