CRS are looking for a Project Manager, working within a project delivery team, primarily based in Tonbridge (Kent) & London, delivering a Southern based Rail Structures portfolio. This role is interviewing ASAP, aiming for a quick start, following a successful interview process.
Salary – £67.5k-£75k DOE
Industry – Buildings/Structures Rail
Pay Method – PAYE Direct
Hours – Full time, some varied shifts due to nature of projects
Benefits – 20 days annual leave, rising each year up to 25 days b/hols
Key responsibilities
* Project Management: day-to-day project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Client and Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders through effective communication and timely reporting. Supporting the Senior team in presenting deliverables via key stakeholder meetings
* Team Support: Assist in developing and supporting high-performing project teams, potentially encompassing diverse technical disciplines and specialisms.
* Contract and Commercial Management: Administer project contracts, monitor performance, and ensure efficient resource utilization and cost control.
* Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact project delivery.
* Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and contribute to internal and external project progress reporting.
* Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures.
About the role
We’re seeking a proactive, detail-focused individual to help ensure the successful delivery of projects through all phases—meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and upholding the highest quality standards. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in promoting safety and environmental responsibility throughout each stage of the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include working closely with the project delivery team monitoring project progress and reporting against key milestones using established tools and processes.
A key part of your role will involve managing contractor possession and isolation applications, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. You’ll also track contractor performance and prepare regular progress reports, helping keep projects on schedule and stakeholders informed.
Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) compliance will be a core focus. You’ll assist in maintaining a safe work environment, conducting risk assessments, and verifying that contractors meet all HSQE requirements. Your attention to detail will ensure both general and site-specific work methods are thoroughly documented and delivered as scheduled.
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
* Proven experience in delivering railway projects is essential.
* Project management. Experience within Rail and Structures.
* Educated to HND/HNC or similar standard.
* HSQE awareness, issues and principles
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word/ Excel/ Powerpoint)
* Excellent industry knowledge
* Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering Structure projects on NR Infrastructure
* Hold current PTS, SMSTS (or equivalent) and CSCS
* Strong communication skills at all levels and the ability to converse confidently in front of key stakeholders
* Ability to handle conflicting priorities across stakeholders and subcontractors
We would also like but it isn’t crucial to have/to be:
* Membership (or working towards membership of) the Association for Project Management.
* A degree or equivalent.
* Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial and financial aspects.
* Understanding of possession planning.
