We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team at the Supported Living service we have a variation of contracted posts within Wakefield and the surrounding areas


As a Support Worker in the Supported Living Service you will be caring, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to people&©s lives. We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn and able to work as part of a team, you will be joining a supportive team and training will be provided.


Due to the nature of the role, support workers are required to have a flexible approach to cover duty rota as necessary, a typical rota includes early shifts / late shifts and you must be willing to work evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep in enhancements are paid on top of the basic salary, additional hours/ overtime may also be available on top of the contacted hours!


Responsibilities:

1. Supporting people with a learning disability in their own homes and enabling them to live as independent a life as possible.
2. To work as part of a team or independently in a range of community settings
3. Enabling and encouraging tenants to undertake daily living skills including cooking, and other household tasks.
4. Providing practical, personal, and emotional support, including intimate personal care.
5. Administering medications in line with the Directorate&©s policy and procedures.


Requirements:

6. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent is desirable (not essential)
7. Willingness to achieve NVQ 3 in Care
8. Previous experience working in care, both work and personal experience is relevant
9. A can-do attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
