Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join McDonald’s UK & Ireland as a Construction Project Manager within our dynamic Construction Team. You’ll work closely with a Senior Project Manager to oversee new build restaurant projects from the feasibility stage through to completion. As part of the team, you will manage the development and delivery of new restaurants, playing a key role in the expansion of McDonald’s across the UK & Ireland. This is an ideal role for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to make an impact on large-scale, high-profile construction projects.
What you’ll be doing:
* Site Evaluation & Development: Work alongside the Acquisitions team and consultants to assess potential new sites for development, ensuring that all necessary factors are considered before moving forward.
* Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including franchisees, contractors, designers, and various McDonald’s departments.
* Project Coordination: Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to handover, ensuring that all milestones are met.
* Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, obtain financial approvals, and ensure that the project remains within budget while reporting any variances.
* Site Inspections & Compliance: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the construction is on track, meets McDonald’s standards, and complies with legal regulations (including CDM regulations).
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and other teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of high-quality restaurants.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
* Experience in Construction Project Management: Ideally in new build construction, commercial or retail fit-out, or transferable project management experience.
* Strong Leadership Skills: Experience leading project teams and managing multi-disciplinary groups.
* Excellent Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including franchisees, developers, and contractors.
* Problem Solving & Autonomy: Comfortable working independently and making decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Strong ability to analyse project information, interpret data, and make informed decisions.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management software (desirable but not essential).
* Driving License: A full, clean driving license is required due to the travel involved across the UK & Ireland.
