Night Shift - Operations Team Leader - Bristol
Wednesday to Sunday start time 02:00 - 8.5 hr shifts / Rota days off Monday & Tuesday
£27,500 to £29,000 per annum
About the role
Our Warehouse teams are the heartbeat of Smiths News. To ensure our warehouse departments run smoothly, our Team Leaders play a key part in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and productivity across their departments and warehouses.
As our Operations Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for planning and resourcing the warehouse operation to ensure pack accuracy of our products and efficient management of products to the department. You will supervise the Warehouse Operatives, providing training, coaching, and working with Management teams to identify training needs as well as potential risks in our operation. You will also ensure that a high level of health and safety, compliance with company policy, and transport legislation is adhered to at all times.

About you
Although a track record in warehouse management would be desirable, people management experience gained in other sectors would be considered. You’ll ideally have:
1. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, preferably from a 24/7 logistics, warehouse, FMCG, or similar industry background
2. Experience managing a large operation and the ability to liaise at all levels
3. Outstanding communication skills and the credibility to effectively build relationships with all team members and management
4. Experience of planning and effectively executing a warehouse operation, dealing with all issues and challenges as they arise
