Job Title: CPI Data Administrator / Collector
A CPI data administrator/collector is responsible for collecting the prices of specific items on a monthly basis across selected retail premises in a designated town or city. This important work impacts various industries nationwide and is conducted on two set days each month—always a Monday and Tuesday—with potential additional collections on a Friday in some areas.
Responsibilities include:
* Visiting stores such as supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, bars, discount retailers, clothing shops, cinemas, mechanics' garages, and tobacconists.
* Recording prices of 800 to 1500 items from 15-20 locations per collection.
* Working approximately 12-15 hours over the designated days, with longer hours initially during training.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Must be over 18 years old.
* Must have a vehicle and a valid UK driving license (mandatory).
* Electronic device literacy is essential for recording prices in real time via handheld devices.
* No prior experience necessary; full training provided.
* Successful applicants will need to complete DBS, identity, employment, and right-to-work checks.
Compensation and benefits:
* From April 2024: £13.44 per hour outside London (£12.00 + £1.44 holiday pay), plus travel expenses.
* Fully-paid induction training.
* 12.07% holiday pay on hours worked, equivalent to 20 days of vacation if working full time.
