Job Description
Thisis a senior managerial position with responsibility for deliveringand developing multiple customer contracts on a bonded site. Thisrole will be heavily customer facing, so an approachbale attitudewith strong customer service experience is essential. You willensure that strategies and business plans are in place to achievetargets and drive business performance and growth whislt workingtowards KPI’s therefore strong business acumen isrequired.
As Depot Manager you will have fullbudget accountability for the site. You will have 4 direct reportswhilst also overseeing the overall depot which has a headcount of100+. This requires you to be driven, innovative and inspirationalto be successful in driving the team to be the best to theirability.
General warehouse compliance and stock& inventory experience will also be essential in the day to dayof this role.
RoleResponsibilities:
* Responsiblefor all Great Bear operational activities onsite
* Assume responsibility for managing Health& Safety, personnel issues and facilities across the site inconjunction with the customer
* Ensure thataccurate financial targets are set, met and deliver improvedfinancial performance through effective costmanagement
* Engage with customers and theirrepresentatives, ensuring that their operational input isconsidered appropriately. Manage this relationshipeffectively
* Strive for continuous improvementand suggest new innovative ways of working which could help toexceed the Company’s expectations and contractualterms
* Ensuring all day to day operationalrequirements consistently meet the customers’expectations
* Exceeding customer key performancemeasures, holding regular customer reviews and managing anddeveloping client relationships
* Preparingcustomer annual budgets and working within those financialboundaries whilst delivering improved financialperformance
* Developing and implementing newinitiatives and projects with thecustomer
* Responsible for managing anddeveloping the existing management teams and employeerelations
* Responsible for Operator Licencecompliance andadherence
Qualifications
* Ademonstrable track record in managing high volume, high servicedriven transport operations
* Track record ofworking closely with customers and able to illustrate examples ofhow they have improved therelationships
* Ability to think and work bothstrategically and operationally
* Should be asuccessful leader of teams, have positive personal qualities andattributes
* Excellent communication skills andthe ability to converse at alllevels
* Experience of Open-book contracts, goodnumerical and commercial skills areessential
* National CPC isessential
