Job Title: CAD/CAM Engineer (Turning Focus)

Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:00
About the Role:
We're looking for a skilled CAD/CAM Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Bredbury. This is a days-based role working a 40-hour week, focused mainly on 2-axis turning, with some milling and mill/turn work involved.
You'll be responsible for creating and optimising CNC programs to support efficient and accurate machining operations. The company uses EdgeCAM, but experience with other CAD/CAM software will be considered - training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create, develop and optimise CNC programs (mainly turning).
* Produce CAM programs for 2-axis lathes, with some milling and mill/turn as required.
* Work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications.
* Support production teams with tooling, setup, and machining advice.
* Contribute to process improvements for cycle time reduction and quality enhancement.
* Liaise with design, engineering, and shopfloor teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a CAD/CAM programming role
* Experience with EdgeCAM is ideal, but other CAD/CAM systems will be considered.
* Good understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling (turning & milling).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to company-specific systems and practic
