Job Summary:
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.

The Army is currently undergoing a modernisation programme bringing in a plethora of new capabilities. As such it is critical that these are supported, and the role of the Supply Chain Manager is pivotal in ensuring that spares for these new capabilities are available at the point of need.

This post will be within the Headquarters Field Army Equipment Branch Supply Team who are responsible for ensuring that Army equipment is available and ready. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced supply chain manager to make a difference to the British Army. You will be the focal point for providing guidance and direction to numerous stakeholders across the Enterprise on all matters relating to spares covering a wide range of capabilities from vehicles to artillery.

Job Description:
This post is critical to ensure that in-service capabilities programmes are managed and can be supported from a spares perspective. The post will involve liaising across multiple organisations to ensure that when being used by the Front-Line Users are supportable and can be sustained to meet critical Army outputs, including the support that the Army provide to NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation).

The post holder will be expected to engage with Field Army Units, suppliers (Industry) and Delivery Teams on all aspects of Equipment Support (ES) Material (Mat), giving direction and guidance in line with ES Mat policy / process for in service support (as per the Defence Logistic Framework).

You will engage with stakeholders, to confirm any proposed Equipment Support Solution in relation to ES Mat is compliant with MOD policy and agreed standards, ensuring any risks highlighted are understood and passed to HQ Field Army and Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) for comment.

You will attend all Delivery Team (DT) Platform and Equipment Logistic Support Committee, Capability Integration Working Group and Support Solution Envelope (SSE) meetings, ensuring Records of Decision (RoD) and Risk Registers are circulated around Field Army for comment.

You will ensure the equipment support program, is effective, makes sense for defence, and offers value in equipment support through life, ensuring risks to ES Mat are clearly understood by all stakeholders.

Main responsibilities will include:
* Engaging with Field Army Units, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and Project Delivery Team on all aspects of ES, giving direction and guidance on ES Mat and any change in the proposed support solutions, provided for platforms and equipment under Field Army control
* Engagement with equipment stakeholders to monitor, manage and improve Equipment Support and is in compliance with MOD policy and agreed standards, ensuring any risks highlighted are understood and mitigated
* Attend all P/DT Platform and Equipment Logistic Support Committee (LSC), Capability Integrated Working Group (CIWG) and Support Solution Envelope meetings, ensuring Records of Decisions and Risk Registers are circulated around Field Army for comment
* Ensuring any in-service equipment program, is effective, makes sense for defence, and offers value in equipment support through life, ensuring risks are understood by the Chain of Command
* Field Army primary stakeholder for the Tri -Service Global Direct Repair Scheme (DRS) contract. Providing guidance and advice on the yearly visits to Global DRS locations (i.e. Kenya / Estonia) - Overseas travel will be required

We are seeking a highly motivated, methodical individual that influences the Supply Support for Land managed programmes. Individuals must have good stakeholder engagement with negotiation skills.

Essential
