Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts & Procurement Assistant, reporting to the Finance and Purchasing Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Processing purchase invoices.
* Managing sales journals from online platforms such as Etsy, eBay, etc.
* Preparing the weekly payroll for review.
* Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns.
* Supporting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts.
* Conducting credit control activities to ensure timely payments from customers.
* Processing bank transactions and maintaining accurate records.
* Performing bank reconciliations.
* Handling courier claims and resolving any related discrepancies.
* Process purchase orders for a range of items, including both stock and non-stock products.
* Identify and source items from alternative suppliers when our primary sources are out of stock.
* Collaborate with customers to address stock shortages, lead times, and present alternative product options.
* Manage purchase orders for consumables and other essential items to maintain smooth operations.
Requirements:
* AAT Qualified or qualified by experience (preferred)
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines effectively.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Good customer service skills
* A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
* A willingness to help in other areas of the business where necessary
