Audit & Accounts Manager – Top 50 UK Accountancy Firm

The Firm
Our client is a long-established and highly respected UK Top 50 chartered accountancy practice, known for its expertise in supporting owner-managed businesses with turnovers ranging from £1m to £100m. With over 200 employees across multiple offices, they provide a full suite of services including audit, accountancy, payroll, tax compliance and advisory, M&A, and transaction support.
The Uxbridge office consists of a collaborative and forward-thinking team of 6 Partners and nearly 40 staff, working in modern, open-plan premises with excellent transport links and on-site parking.
The Role
This is a mixed Audit (75%) and Accounts (25%) Manager role, managing a portfolio of c.50 owner-managed business clients with annual fees in excess of £500k. You'll be supported by a team of qualified and part-qualified staff, and work closely with Partners on both client delivery and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full management of a portfolio of audit and accounting clients
* Planning, execution, and completion of audits
* Reviewing accounts and corporate tax deliverables
* Supervising and mentoring junior staff
* Acting as primary client contact and managing client relationships
* Reporting directly to Partners and attending client meetings
* Involvement in networking and new business proposals
* Contributing to team development and office growth initiatives
About You
* ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 3 years’ post-qualified experience
* Experience managing a mixed portfolio of audit and accounts clients
* Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102
* Proficient in audit from planning to completion
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Working knowledge of Digita and Caseware is advantageous
