Paint Shop Team Leader £37,440 per year | Permanent | Days | Dudley | Manufacturing This Paint Team Leader role is a hands-on leadership position within a busy manufacturing environment. You’ll be responsible for leading the paint shop day to day, managing a small team, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standard. Key duties and responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of Paint Operatives on the shop floor Plan and schedule daily workloads in line with production plans Allocate work to ensure jobs are completed on time and in full Monitor output against OTIFNE targets and address issues early Set priorities and communicate completion times using planning boards Maintain quality standards and address non-conformances promptly Carry out final sign-off of completed work leaving the department Ensure all production and quality paperwork is completed accurately Enforce health & safety procedures, PPE compliance, and housekeeping standards Manage attendance, timekeeping, and shop-floor discipline Maintain training and competency records (SQEP) Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns Support training, coaching, and development of paint shop staff Liaise with planning, engineering, quality, and management teams Identify problems and implement corrective actions quickly What we’re looking for: Previous hands-on experience in an industrial paint shop Experience leading or supervising a small production team Strong organisational and communication skills Confident managing quality, safety, and delivery targets Experience within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment preferred This is a practical Paint Team Leader role for someone who enjoys running a department, leading people, and keeping production on track.
