Speech and Language Therapist – Longdon Hall School
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Longdon Hall School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. This role is governed by the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
Responsibilities
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload within the school setting.
* Deliver assessment and intervention aligned with OFG Speech and Language Therapy standards.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to staff training and consultation.
* Work with families, relatives and carers to support pupils’ progress.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registered.
* Experience working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice.
* Experience of multidisciplinary working in a range of settings.
* Strong relationship building, analytical and judgemental skills.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of different SaLT assessment tools and types of intervention.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to supporting pupils.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
* Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
Location & Salary
Longdon Hall School – Tamworth, Staffordshire
Salary up to £53,200 per annum (DOE).
