Grade G £20,651.07 - £22,931.49 per annum.

Contract: Part time, 22.2 hours per week. Permanent.

Role specifics Candidates must hold a recognised HR, training and development (or teaching) or leadership qualification

The Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, Workforce Planning and Development Officer to work in the Organisational Learning and Development team. The role will be focused on planning the delivery of learning and development activities across the council, schools and children’s and adult’s social care settings.

You will be involved in identifying development needs, planning the activities and evaluating the outcomes. You will have a focus on ensuring legal, ethical and regulatory responsibilities are met, such Ofsted and CQC.

You will engage and consult with a range of stakeholders including managers, staff, partners, schools and commissioned services to identify their workforce training needs and provide advice and guidance on activities to meet those needs.

You will be responsible for commissioning training providers and suppliers and promoting the training online and through social media.

About You

As an enthusiastic and highly motivated person, you will use your verbal communication skills to engage and influence others at all levels.


You may not have worked in a learning and development environment previously, but you will have a passion for making a difference to individuals, services and organisations.

You will have be resilient and flexible and enjoy working in complex and changing environments. You’ll also need to be highly organised and self-disciplined, with experience of project management and following commissioning processes.
