This role blends sales pipeline management with community-building leadership, providing the opportunity to own the full member lifecycle - from acquisition to retention while shaping a culture of innovation, support, and collaboration. You'll be both the outward face of Plus X Innovation to prospective members and the internal connector for existing members, supported by our Operations and Programme teams. Sales In collaboration with the Location Marketing Manager and Commercial Manager, own the full sales cycle – from driving business development and local ecosystem outreach to support wider lead generation, through to lead qualification to impactful tours, proposals, negotiation, and closing. Deliver engaging, inspiring and on-brand tours that communicate the distinctive Plus X Innovation proposition, followed by tailored proposals, with the goal of positively impacting occupancy and driving revenue growth for the Brighton hub. Support the Commercial Manager with negotiating membership agreements that support the wider membership curation and meet both budget and business objectives. Support Commercial Manager and Finance Manager with effective membership tracking, keeping an eye on revenue, occupancy, churn, and initiating ways to optimise each positively. Lead on end-to-end process for onboarding for all new members - including CRM setup, Kisi access, Health & Safety induction, building tours, and PEEP (as required). Lead the offboarding process for departing members, ensuring a smooth and positive experience to ensure leavers remain as brand ambassadors where possible. Also ensure accurate data updates to enable accurate churn reporting. Drive all upselling of ancillary products including the podcast suite, photography suite, meeting rooms and event spaces to existing members and contacts, tracking bookings, ensuring pro-active post booking follow-ups to capture feedback and incentivise future bookings. Community Engagement & Member Experience Curate a thriving, collaborative innovation community by facilitating thoughtful connections and introductions and fostering collaboration between members. Maintain deep knowledge of members and their businesses and develop processes to track their journey, including feedback with regards to effective collaborations, partnerships and social impact. Ensure member feedback is shared with wider business and is used to improve member engagement and collaborations on an ongoing basis. Deliver a full roster of community events each month, including wellness sessions, socials, and knowledge-sharing opportunities in collaboration with thewider team (location, marketing and programmes). Ensure all events are captured on the website and event posters in a timely manner to ensure members know what’s coming up. Act as the first point of contact for member needs, concerns, and account management, driving retention through exceptional service. Help to build a strong community of startups, scaleups and larger businesses by ensuring members feel valued and supported. Support the Commercial Manager and programmes team to ensure programme alumni are transitioned into membership opportunities or upsold ancillary product use where relevant after programme end e.g. ongoing use of podcast suites for content creation, event spaces for product showcases etc. Support Operations and Community Manager, delivering member communications and feedback loops (e.g. NPS surveys), and action member experience improvements based on insights. Effectively engage, build relationships and account manage all members on an ongoing basis to drive high customer satisfaction, meeting specific needs and thus high retention across all product categories. Manage all potential leavers with effective retention strategies including contract re-negotiations, internal moves and wider support opportunities Operations & Facilities Support Accountable for SBBR (Small Business Rate Relief) process – ensuring it’s followed and up to date, with occupancy schedule report sent monthly to third party provider. Oversee accurate monthly billing and reporting processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and aged receivables. Manage aged debtors ensuring they are within the agreed threshold for the hub. Team and Culture Act as a bridge between community and commercial operations, contributing ideas for service improvement and internal collaboration. Support the development of front-of-house or sales support team members (if applicable) through coaching or mentorship. Attend external events as an effective brand ambassador for our innovation hub, bringing to life the unique benefits of being a part of the Plus X Innovation Brighton community within the local innovation and business support community. Experience & Skills Demonstrated experience in supporting sales, business development, or account management, ideally within coworking, hospitality, or membership-driven organisations. Strong track record in community management, with the ability to foster engagement, collaboration, and retention across diverse member groups. Competence in CRM systems and membership platforms. Experience in event delivery. Good understanding of financial processes such as invoicing & payment tracking. Confident in upselling ancillary products (meeting rooms, event spaces, media suites) to drive additional revenue. Comfortable working with KPIs Ability to act as an effective brand ambassador at external events, representing the organisation with professionalism and enthusiasm. Personal Attributes Commercially driven with a strong focus on achieving revenue and occupancy growth. Highly personable and approachable, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Organised and detail-oriented, able to support multiple responsibilities (sales, events, community, operations) simultaneously.
