This role is to report to the Production Manager. Responsibilities and Tasks; - Production Planning o Plan, schedule and coordinate production of the company’s products. o Provide lead time & order confirmation dates to the Sales team. o Manage limited space and skill resources to ensure customer delivery dates are always met in the most efficient manner. o Scheduling shifts and workers to provide the required skill coverage. o Reporting on the production status and any production issues to the Production Manager. o In collaboration with the Production Manager handling production disruptions and productivity problems. o Ensure the plan is adhered to and delivered as intended. o Ensure each monthly build target is achieved. o Be an integral part of the team, supporting with every aspect of the process in a hands-on manner. - Production Buyer o Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production. o Ensure any one off projects or out of normal build volume still has all of the materials required ahead of time to avoid any delays to production. o Place & manage orders for specific repeating suppliers. o Support the Purchaser to ensure procurement planning and inventory management efforts to align with production schedules and trends. - Process Improvement o Take ownership for continually improving the planning/scheduling process to improve its efficiency. o Through improved planning, implement a strategic reduction in stock holding and variation. - Required and Preferred Qualifications o Knowledge of production processes and quality control o Math and analytical skills o Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software o Verbal and written communication skills o Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees o Organizational and time-management skills o Deadline driven o Strong literacy of Microsoft Excel
