Role Overview
Due to continued growth our Asset Management division have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure all commercial functions for the Division are completed to professional standards within agreed time and cost budgets.
What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:
Pre Contract
1. On Site pre-measurements
2. Production of bills of quantities and/or MTC cost plans for clients
3. Development of supply chain packages
4. Production of labour schedules for operations team
5. Specialist material procurement
Post Contract
6. Procurement and appointment of subcontractors on designated subcontract conditions
7. Preparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract profitability forecast
8. Measurement, preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts in line with the contract schedule of rates
9. Administration, auditing and analysis of subcontractor accounts along with effective commercial control
10. Identification of added value opportunities within measurement and contract conditions
11. Prepare subcontractor payments accurately and in a timely manner
12. You will be responsible for keeping the Commercial Manager informed of the progress of all accounts from inception through to finalisation
13. Work in accordance with strict client KPI’s, in particular time, cost and quality
What you’ll bring
As a Quantity Surveyor your main skills and experience will include:
Essential Criteria
14. Have relevant Quantity Surveying experience within a Construction or Facilities Management environment
15. Possess either a Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or demonstrate a level of experience obtained working in a comparable role
16. Demonstrate the ability to develop a strong client and supply chain relationship by working in a collaborative manner
17. Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Information Technology in general
18. Valid driving license
Desirable Criteria
19. Have knowledge of construction practices that can be used on site to analyse the design and propose potential cost saving and value engineering measures
20. Experience of working on MTC contracts
21. Experience of using the Mechanical PSA/National Schedule of Rates
22. Experience of QS software such as Barcellos
