Position Description:
The Maintenance Supervisor will provide front-line engineering support to their team of Craft Technicians, developing an effective partnership between Maintenance Engineering, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Technical Services. The Maintenance team executes predictive, planned, and reactive maintenance across all manufacturing equipment within Speke Manufacturing areas. The main priority of this position is to supervise craft technicians, supporting their activities while ensuring quality and safety are maintained and continuous improvements are considered.
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
1. Maintenance Engineering Supervision
* Provide maintenance engineering support for craft technicians.
* Advise and coach technicians in maintenance tasks.
* Organise and coordinate maintenance schedules with maintenance planners.
* Ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of maintenance by craft technicians.
* Identify deficiencies within the maintenance system and address or escalate them as appropriate.
* Request and facilitate work order execution for craft technicians.
* Collaborate with planners to ensure staffing levels meet maintenance needs.
* Liaise with contractors and facilities management to ensure safe and timely work completion.
* Conduct performance management with direct reports.
* Ensure team training on all necessary aspects for their tasks.
1. Production Support
* Raise deviation investigations for issues including PM failures on GMP critical equipment and EHS regulated PMs.
* Investigate failures due to human error and document findings.
* Report key maintenance metrics and KPIs during maintenance huddles.
2. Safety and Environmental
* Coach team through toolbox talks and safety shares.
* Encourage use of safety reporting processes.
* Escalate and act on safety concerns, promote the use of bsafe.
3. Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate with site functions to identify equipment improvement opportunities.
* Own and implement equipment improvements and optimisations following site change management procedures.
4. Capital Projects
* Integrate craft technicians into projects to expand knowledge and prepare for future needs.
* Support project teams with commissioning and qualification support for capital projects.
5. Develop Technical Knowledge
* Maintain detailed understanding of onsite manufacturing equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineering or other technical degree, or a time-served craftsperson (HNC minimum, HND preferred) with manufacturing experience. EC&I qualification and understanding of calibration processes are required for the EC&I Supervisor position.
Additional Preferences:
Technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment at the Speke site.
