What's Involved

We’re looking for a QA Engineer who can combine software engineering skills with a deep understanding of testing and quality practices. You’ll be an integral part of our development process—writing automated tests, improving coverage, and helping the team deliver secure, stable, and high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities:

* Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for our applications and APIs
* Develop test automation frameworks and tooling to improve test speed, reliability, and coverage
* Collaborate with engineers from the earliest stages of feature development to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
* Design and execute exploratory tests for complex workflows and edge cases
* Identify, document, and track defects through resolution as part of an agile development process
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing at multiple stages
* Help define and promote best practices for quality across the engineering team

Requirements

Must Haves

* 3+ years of experience in software development, QA engineering, or a hybrid role
* Experience writing automated tests using modern frameworks (e.g. Jest, Playwright, Cypress, Mocha)
* Solid understanding of software testing principles and test design techniques
* Experience testing APIs, web applications, and integrations in distributed systems
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions) and integrating automated tests into pipelines
* A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for catching edge cases before they reach production
* Very strong communication skills to work across several fast-moving feature teams to help support them in raising and maintaining the quality of the code, features and systems that they work on.

Nice to Haves

* Experience with performance, load, or security testing tools
* Familiarity with backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Express, Next.js) and frontend frameworks (e.g. React)
* Knowledge of blockchain-based systems or digital asset platforms
* Experience in fintech, regulated environments, or other high-trust software products
* Experience working with penetration testers and other cybersecurity professionals to take external reports and audits and building out a plan to resolve or mitigate each risk raised
* Generous stock options, with equity plans that let you share in the company’s growth
* Private health insurance - we offer a premium private health insurance scheme (UK/IRE only)
* We offer 24 days annual leave plus public holidays, with flexibility for additional time off
* IT and office equipment to support your work, including a MacBook, displays and accessories
* Salary sacrifice scheme and financial tools to help you with your personal finances, covering childcare, groceries, tech, pensions, bikes and subscriptions (UK only)
* A state of the art central office in Belfast
* An annual learning and personal development budget for training, exams, certifications, qualifications or anything else which helps you progress at work and your career
* The opportunity to work in a high-growth startup where your contribution matters and shapes an industry
