Who We Are
As NHS Scotland’s unique provider of a national tele‑health and tele‑care service, we deliver health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Where We Are
Our Regional Centres are located at Aberdeen, Cardonald, Clydebank, Dundee and South Queensferry. This role is advertised for our South Queensferry Regional Centre.
This Role
* Perform high‑quality telephone assessments and provide clinical supervision to members within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Act as an autonomous practitioner providing comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessment to patients and/or their carers, resulting in safe and appropriate clinical decisions.
* Provide real‑time clinical support to NHS 24 frontline staff, resulting in safe, appropriate and person‑centred outcomes.
* Facilitate accurate healthcare information, self‑care advice and referrals to the appropriate level of care to meet holistic requirements.
* Use a variety of models to deliver clinical supervision to non‑clinical staff.
Who Are We Looking For
* Registered as an Adult Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register.
* Excellent clinical decision‑making skills, with the ability to provide continuous clinical supervision and leadership.
* Extensive post‑registration experience, preferably within an acute or primary care setting, with broad knowledge across a range of specialties.
* Critical decision‑making skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Our Enhanced Salary Package
NHS 24 offers a total reward package, with a permanent contract on Band 6 £41 608 – £50 702* (pro‑rata for part‑time hours). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
Competitive hourly rates for working unsocial hours are added to the basic starting salary of £41 608.
• Basic hourly rate of £21.57
• Saturday / After 8pm weekday hourly rate of £32.34
• Sunday / Public holiday hourly rate of £43.13
Earning potential example: For Clinical Supervisors on a starting salary of £41 608 working 37.30 or 24 hours rotas with 5 out of 8 weekends, approximate monthly pay is:
Contracted hours: 37 – Monthly basic pay £3 467, monthly enhancements £1 248, monthly total £4 715.
Contracted hours: 30 – Monthly basic pay £2 811, monthly enhancements £1 011, monthly total £3 822.
Contracted hours: 24 – Monthly basic pay £2 248, monthly enhancements £809, monthly total £3 057.

Shift patterns available
16, 24, 30 hours/week – average across an 8‑week rota pattern.
* 16 hrs – 8/8 weekends (working 8‑hr shifts)
* 24 hrs – 5/8 weekends
* 30 hrs – 5/8 weekends
* 30 hrs – 8/8 weekends
