Overall Purpose of the Job
Expro is seeking an experienced Competence Assurance Senior Manager to lead the design, development, implementation, and governance of our global Operational Competence Assurance programmes. This senior leadership role ensures our workforce operates safely, effectively, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements, while protecting employees and surrounding communities.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of professionals responsible for programme development, technical training, operational audits, and associated reporting across the organisation.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
1. Lead and manage the Group Competence Assurance function, including Managers, Specialists, and Technical Trainers, ensuring delivery of high‑quality service to internal stakeholders
2. Direct the implementation, utilisation, and continuous improvement of the Expro Competency Programme, acting as its champion across the organisation
3. Shape and guide the strategic direction of Group and Regional Competence Assurance teams, contributing to major projects and representing Expro with relevant industry bodies
4. Develop and execute a long‑term Competence Assurance strategy aligned with organisational objectives and quality standards
5. Oversee the full Competency Assurance and Technical Training strategy, supporting both short‑ and long‑term business needs
6. Ensure effective implementation of Training and Competency plans across all product lines
7. Optimise resource allocation within the Competence Assurance function and monitor performance against agreed plans
8. Manage and report on departmental budgets, including internal and external cost considerations
9. Oversee training needs analysis, prioritising training programmes and evaluating their effectiveness
10. Conduct regular visits to countries, bases, and facilities to strengthen relationships, assess customer satisfaction, and deliver presentations or training as required
11. Lead and participate in Group Competence Assurance audits, as well as internal and external audits
12. Deliver specialised QHSE and Competence Assurance projects as required
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
13. Degree or professional qualification, or equivalent experience gained through senior Competence Assurance roles
14. Extensive experience in operational and/or Competence Assurance environments
15. Proven track record of managing and implementing large‑scale, global programmes
16. Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
17. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills
