Financial Accountant – Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to play a key role in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial control for a university.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare annual financial statements (FRS102 & FE HE SORP)
* Lead on audits and statutory returns
* Oversee VAT and corporation tax compliance
* Manage the fixed asset register and reconciliations
* Line‑manage and support the development of an Assistant Accountant
* Contribute to improving systems, processes, and reporting quality
About You
You are a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant with strong experience in financial reporting and a sound understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT principles. You are analytical, detail‑focused, and able to explain financial concepts clearly to non‑finance colleagues.
