We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead learning in upper Key Stage 2 and help pupils prepare confidently for their transition to secondary education. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the curriculum. You will support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they feel confident, motivated, and prepared for the next stage of their education. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad and balanced curriculum Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Maintain a safe, well-organised, and stimulating classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues Contribute to school events, trips, and enrichment activities Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have recent experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Be confident in preparing pupils for SATs Have strong classroom management and organisational skills Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills Be dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The school is located in Birmingham, with good transport links and a supportive local community.
