We are seeking a Clinical Coding Administrator to join our Administration Team.
Working alongside four other team members, this is a busy and varied role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The successful candidate will support the accurate processing and coding of clinical information to ensure patient records are maintained to a high standard.
Main duties of the job
* Accurately code and record clinical data within the patient clinical system.
* Review patient correspondence, identify relevant clinical information, apply appropriate coding, and complete any necessary follow-up actions.
* Input and extract patient data to support practice reporting requirements.
* Process and action incoming correspondence, emails, and post promptly in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
* Scan and upload patient documentation to electronic healthcare records, ensuring accurate filing and storage.
* Maintain accurate patient healthcare records by inputting data in line with clinical guidelines and confidentiality standards.
* Provide administrative support to clinical staff as required.
* Participate in clinical audits and data quality work as directed by the audit lead.
Job responsibilities
* Manage the clinical coding requirements for all electronic and hard-copy documentation relating to registered patients.
* Ensure all coding activities and patient workflow processes are completed in accordance with NHS guidelines and our Northdown and Dashwood protocols, policies, and procedures, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
* Good standard of General Education
* Demonstrable commitment to professional development
* Working in a GP Practice.
* Working with Emis, Docman and IPlato
* Understanding of medical/clinical coding principles
* Trained in clinical coding
