Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen within the Dalton & Ulverston District nursing team for an advanced Clinical Support Worker. The role requires flexibility over days, weekends, evenings and nights.
As a CSW in the community team you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication with patients, relatives and professionals as well as experience or willingness to train in a range of extended clinical skills including but not limited to basic observations, venepuncture, skin care, palliative care and sub-cutaneous injections. You will be working seeing patients on your own in their homes as part of a close and supportive team that pride themselves on a high standard of patient care.
Responsibilities
* Provide basic nursing care to patients in the community setting as part of the district nursing team.
* Carry out an extended role of clinical tasks and skills and work unaccompanied.
* Assist the Clinical Team with data entry and administrative duties.
About our services
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
