Plus additional sleep-in payment per sleep-in shift.
Hours
37 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, inclusive of bank holidays. Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Response is looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join their dedicated team at Scrutton Close! The team focuses on supporting clients within their own accommodation, offering a high level of support, and working closely with clients to achieve personal goals and gain independence. Scrutton is staffed 24/7, with a sleep-in employee available from 11 pm to 7 am.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to residents with serious mental illnesses, including adults with primary diagnoses of psychotic illnesses, often with coexisting conditions such as physical health issues, neurodiversity, substance use, and cognitive impairments.
You will work proactively with residents to promote independence, well-being, and self-management of mental health, ensuring safety through good housing management, risk assessment, and health & safety practices. Supporting tenants to maintain their homes and develop daily living skills is also essential.

* Providing emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance with daily activities, including medication support, engaging in interests, education, community access, employment, and teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport, and cooking.
* Fostering a supportive and empowering environment that promotes residents' independence.
* Supporting and monitoring physical and mental health, liaising with health services as needed.
* Assisting residents to attend appointments.
* Completing daily paperwork.
* Supporting the Service Manager to meet monthly service goals.
* Ensuring health and safety compliance to maintain a safe environment.
* Working with residents using a trauma-informed approach based on the 6 principles of trauma-informed care: Safety, Trust, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment, and Cultural Consideration.
* Promoting engagement with families, friends, and carers, involving them in support planning and providing information about the service.

Essential Criteria:
* GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* A commitment to ongoing personal development, including completing the Care Certificate
* IT literacy, with experience in MS Office
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to provide non-judgemental, emotional, and practical support
* Genuine interest in mental health and well-being, committed to Response’s mission
* High levels of personal and professional integrity aligned with Response’s values
* Ability to follow health and safety procedures

You will receive training in core therapeutic talk therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Mutual Aid to support clients effectively.
