Finance Manager - Plymouth / Hybrid - Circa: £50,000 Negotiable DOE + Excellent Benefits
Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a specialist construction services business and a prominent, longstanding employer in Plymouth with a superb reputation for staff retention and development. They have tasked us with sourcing an experienced Finance Manager Controller to join their established finance function. The role is offered as a permanent, full time contract and benefits from an excellent base salary (negotiable depending on experience), a host of enhanced financial/non-financial benefits and a friendly, sociable team of colleagues. The company also promotes a flexible hybrid working policy allowing the successful candidate to operate remotely for two days per week (if required).
Working closely alongside a highly experienced Finance Director and supporting a small team of transactional focussed colleagues, this will be a broad and fulfilling role allowing the successful candidate to play a key role in overseeing efficient operational financial controls. Key responsibilities to include:
- Reporting to and working closely alongside the FD, develop and maintain robust and efficient day-to-day financial controls for a fast paced and busy services business
- Management of a small but highly experienced team covering all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, credit control, payroll and other transactional responsibilities
- Production of high quality management accounts with commentary
- Preparation of statutory information and reporting to relevant standards
- Deputise for the Finance Director as and when required
- Play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of a range of ongoing accounting projects
- Maintain and develop a streamlined digital accounting system (Xero based)
- Act a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and customers
- Assist with year-end and audit procedures
For this role we seek an experienced and switched on candidate with a good aptitude for working in a fast paced environment. Candidates will ideally hold a full professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), though our client is open minded to candidates that possess an AAT qualification and/or appropriate vocational experience. This is a technology driven business throughout so good experience of modern accounting software (ideally Sage or Xero based), would be preferred, and an aptitude for further streamlining and improving financial controls a strong would be highly desirable. The role works as part of a friendly, close knit team that regularly support one and another so excellent team working skills a must!
