Working in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council, EQUANS is looking for a School Crossing Patrol Officer to join our team in Grimsby on a permanent, part-time basis. The role involves working 5 hours per week during term time only. The salary offered is £2, per annum along with a benefits package.
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children crossing the road at designated locations during specified times. A School Crossing Patrol Officer is a vital part of the local community, contributing to children's safety on their way to and from school. It is preferred that candidates live close to the school for easy access to the workplace.
What will you deliver?
1. Follow Equans and North East Lincolnshire Council policies regarding the School Crossing Patrol Service, including Health and Safety procedures.
2. Use the provided uniform and equipment to ensure safety for yourself, parents, children, and the public, especially when stopping traffic.
3. Maintain control over pedestrians awaiting to cross.
4. Report issues to the Road Safety Education Officer/School Crossing Patrol Supervisor.
5. Attend annual local training seminars.
6. Comply with the organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy.
7. Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others affected by your activities.
8. Value and understand the importance of performance information and monitor progress.
9. Focus on key priorities of the company and recognize the impact of your work.
10. Perform any other duties reasonably related to the role and level of responsibility.

* Experience working in or around a school environment
* Experience working with children and young people
* Effective communication skills with children and adults
* Ability to work independently after induction and manage time effectively
* Confidentiality and ability to stand for extended periods in all weather conditions
* Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check with Barred List clearance, so the ability to pass this check is essential.
