Summary
To report to the Commercial Manager, working closely with the Sales Manager to play an integral role in managing and developing Key Account functions. A professional, experienced, and proactive approach is required with a proven track record of account management at a successful level. Tasks will include forecasting, costing, monthly sales reporting, stock reporting, liaising with production planning, and preparing presentations as necessary. Travel will be expected weekly within the UK and possibly overseas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Forecasting - liaise with the customer to agree on realistic forecasts, analyze and question forecasts, and advise on potential impacts on service levels.
* Manage stock levels, safety stock, and liaise with Supply Chain, customer service, and stock control to meet SLAs.
* Agree SLA on stock-supported and special items.
* Liaise with customer service and stock control to manage call-off contracts.
* Review order books regularly, visit customers to discuss performance, and identify escalation points.
* Monitor Service Level - report issues to the Commercial Manager and manage KPIs like OTIF, late deliveries, complaints, innovation, and delivery costs.
* Collaborate with the Sales Manager to provide data for monthly sales analysis.
* Monitor costs and report to the Commercial and Sales Managers.
* Manage aged and slow-moving stock.
* Support administration activities on key accounts.
* Implement and monitor efficient account management processes in liaison with all departments.
* Manage tender pack submissions with relevant departments.
Qualifications, Education, Skills, and Competencies
* Graduate or professional business qualification preferred.
* Proficient in computer use, with strong Excel skills.
* Proven success in account management.
* Customer-facing experience essential for relationship development.
* Self-motivated, ambitious, confident, and responsible.
* Committed to delivering high-quality results to customers and colleagues.
* Ability to identify problems and collaborate on solutions.
* Effective at resolving conflicts through discussion.
* Attention to detail and ability to integrate data from various sources.
* Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
* Fluent communication skills at all levels.
* Strong influencing skills and project management experience.
