We are recruiting for a Legal Book-Keeper to join the team of our Client based in Ballymena on a permanent basis. You will be working closely with the Partners of the firm, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of a busy solicitor's firm's finance function. Hours of work: Part-time OR Fulltime (Must be available to work on a Friday) Specific roles & responsibilities include: Supervision and maintenance of firm's client, office and deposit bank accounts. Reconciling bank statements. Accurate and timely processing and recording of incoming and outgoing payments (Bacs/Cheques/Bank lodgements /Payments via card terminal). Receiving customer payments in person and over the telephone. Keying electronic payments for approval by the Partners. Ensuring all finance records are up to date & accurate on the firm's finance system. Checking & posting bills & invoices. Petty cash management Preparation of cash-flow forecasts, Key Performance Indicators and specific daily/ month-end/ year-end financial reports Liaising with suppliers and payment of supplier invoices Aged- debt review and recovery. Credit Card analysis and payments Preparing and submitting VAT returns. Liaising with the firm's accountant to assist in their preparation of statutory returns. Criteria: Previous experience within a bookkeeping/ accounting- focused role is essential. Competent on Microsoft Office packages particular Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills. Ability to observe strict levels of confidentiality required to work in a legal practice. Previous experience/knowledge of legal accounts software (such as Insight Legal) or working in finance within a legal setting is not essential but would be highly desirable.
