Aircraft Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker - Manchester
On behalf of our client, a specialist Aerospace manufacturing business, were actively recruiting a number of skilled Aircraft Fitters / Sheet Metal Workers to join their growing team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic chance to join a dynamic team specialising in precision engineering and high-quality components.
The Role
As an Aircraft Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker, youll play a vital role in the fabrication, assembly, and structural fitting of high-precision aerospace components.
Key responsibilities
* Interpreting and working from detailed aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.
* Assembling airframe and structural components to tight tolerances.
* Profiling, shaping, and forming sheet metal parts using manual and semi-automated techniques.
* Operating tools and equipment such as rubber presses, hand-forming tools, and other fabrication machinery.
* Performing processes such as drilling, countersinking, riveting, sealant application, and fitting helicoils, bearings, and bushes.
* Working collaboratively to ensure production deadlines and stringent quality standards are consistently met.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in aerospace fitting, sheet metal work, or a transferable high-precision manufacturing environment.
* Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
* Practical hands-on experience with fitting, forming, and fabrication techniques including riveting and sealant application.
* An eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
